The Sheffield Sports and Social Club was founded in 1935 (dated minutes, but it is known that the Club existed at least ten years before that!), by people wishing to undertake sports and social activities with their fellow workers, which continues today.

The STSSC is run by members (on a voluntary basis) for the benefit of members.
